Over the last 28 years, Big Sister has shared the stage with an impressive, diverse list of performers, Including Joan Osborne, The Band, Solomon Burke, Bo Diddley, The Ramones, Spin Doctors, Etta James, and Lenny Kaye to name a few. Their live show is as eclectic as the member’s Influences, appealing to a wide variety of audiences. Expect infections grooves and dynamic jamming at a Big Sister show!

Big Sister’s major-label release on Capricorn Records, “So Hi How Are You”, co-produced and engineered by John Siket (Dave Matthews, Phish), received rave reviews nationally. Rolling Stone called it, “thorny and luscious as a rose bush”. Big Sister has also released four other recordings, available on iTunes. They continue to write new material, and will be playing it, along with their “classics” at their shows.

Jennifer Maidman
Jennifer sings and plays bass guitar, guitar, keyboards, drums, percussion, ukulele, cuatro and Chapman Stick. Her work can be heard on hundreds of recordings, including many international hits. She is also a singer and songwriter, performing live over the last few years in the UK, often with her partner Annie Whitehead on trombone. She is currently a member of The Orchestra That Fell to Earth (members of the original Penguin Cafe Orchestra) , and plays regularly with Annie's band , with the SoupSongs band (the music of Robert Wyatt) , Murray Head Band (playing mainly in France) , Tony O'Malley Band, Terry Reid Band, the poets Michael Horovitz and Penny Rimbaud of the Crass Collective, and reformed seminal 70's funk soul ensemble Kokomo.

Recent album releases featuring Jennifer's work include Paul Brady's 'The Vicar Street Sessions Volume One' (on which Jennifer can be heard playing with Bonnie Raitt, Van Morrison, Mark Knopfler, Ronan Keating and others) , 'Freedom's Daughter' by Jan Allain, and 'Flawed Heroine', the debut album by Lund, engineered and produced by Jennifer (see production page for a taster) . Jennifer also guested on guitar on Boy George’s 2013 album “This is What I Do”
